Empowering Emirati Students Abroad: A Key Focus For UAE Leadership

Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, highlighted the need to engage with students studying abroad and introduce initiatives to enhance their skills. This aims to create an educational environment that nurtures youth capabilities and promotes knowledge exchange through collaboration.

An interactive electronic platform was launched to assist graduate students in guiding new students, helping them integrate into society. The session also discussed developing training programmes to help Emirati students adapt to cultural and social life abroad. Social events were organised to exchange experiences and build relationships, alongside guidance sessions on suitable academic paths.

UAE Focuses on Student Empowerment Abroad

The event featured sports and science competitions, discussions about innovation, and debates aimed at enhancing the competitive spirit and developing skills. Dr. Al Neyadi remarked, "The directives of our wise leadership underscore the significance of listening to youth's voices and providing them with opportunities to share their ideas. Empowering the youth to engage in decision-making processes is crucial for sustainable development. By investing in human capabilities, we are equipping our national workforce with vital skills in key sectors that enhance our future ambitions and drive the success of our nation."

Dr. Fahad Al Taffaq, UAE Ambassador to Australia, noted that the forum provided a valuable opportunity to discuss challenges faced by students on scholarships abroad. It also served as a platform for UAE youth living abroad for study or work to come together. The attendees explored essential topics such as education, the environment, climate change, the future, artificial intelligence, and other critical issues contributing to the country's sustainable development.

The young participants delved into various subjects, highlighting challenges faced by Emirati youth studying in Australian universities. These included adapting to cultural and social life abroad, forging connections with peers, academic hurdles, time management, and scientific career paths.

Empowering Youth for National Development

The session also addressed the global empowerment of Emirati youth and their role in representing the nation internationally. Discussions focused on how they can best leverage opportunities provided by the UAE to contribute to national development goals.

Dr. Al Neyadi added that this youth session offered students an interactive platform to present their suggestions and discuss their future ambitions. He stated it acted as a catalyst in fostering communication and sharing ideas while underscoring dedication to providing comprehensive support for overseas students ensuring an outstanding educational journey for them.

The event was attended by Dr. Al Neyadi along with Dr. Fahad Al Taffaq and more than 120 participants including scholarship students. The session titled "Emirati Students in Australia" was organised by the Federal Youth Authority in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Sydney.
