Emirati Students Showcase Innovative Digital Solutions At Expand North Star 2024 Event

Talented Emirati students have demonstrated their innovative digital solutions at the "YouthX Unipreneur" event, part of Expand North Star 2024. This platform allows school and university students to present their entrepreneurial projects. The event, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, took place at Dubai Harbour from 13-16 October.

Since its inception in 2021, YouthX Unipreneur has become a crucial support system for entrepreneurial students. It has attracted over 3,000 visitors and connected more than 1,000 young minds with mentors and industry leaders. The event offers prizes worth AED 500,000, empowering young innovators to turn their ideas into successful digital ventures.

The commitment to local innovation was evident through UAE-based startups like Scrapp, Rise AI, and DINOTECH. Abdullah Al Nyassi founded Scrapp, a consumer after-sales experience platform. Ahmed Al Kaabi established Rise AI, focusing on AI-powered marketing solutions. Saleh Haidarah co-founded DINOTECH, which specialises in solar-powered vending machines.

These startups reflect the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit among UAE youth. They are dedicated to sustainable and innovative solutions that align with global technological advancements.

Participating students praised Dubai's role as a tech hub that attracts global investments and supports startup growth. They highlighted the importance of Expand North Star in providing networking opportunities for entrepreneurs to showcase innovations and connect with investors.

Students Mohammed Shawqi and Butti Al Muhairi from MBR School presented their multi-purpose hiking product. They noted how Expand North Star inspired them and offered connections within the startup ecosystem.

Shamma Al Marzooqi, Founder and CEO of Awin, shared similar views. Her company focuses on emergency response drone solutions. She valued the networking opportunities at Expand North Star that connected her with mentors and industry leaders.

The success of YouthX Unipreneur highlights Dubai's dedication to nurturing a thriving startup ecosystem. This environment attracts investment, nurtures talent, and drives technological progress globally.
