Ali Al Loughani Achieves Recognition At Best Young Inventors Competition In Dallas With Doctor Robot
Ali Al Loughani, a young Emirati inventor and member of the UAE Children’s Parliament, is gaining international acclaim for his innovative solutions to global challenges. His latest achievement is winning the Best Innovation Award in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the Best Young Inventors Competition in Dallas, USA. Sponsored by Digital Dubai, his project ‘Doctor Robot’ impressed judges with its potential to revolutionise patient care.
The competition, organised by the American Discover STEM Foundation, featured participants from elementary and middle schools. Al Loughani's project was inspired by the ‘A Doctor for Every Citizen’ initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The project aims to provide timely medical interventions using advanced technology, especially in urgent clinical cases.

The 'Doctor Robot' project helps reduce hospital pressure, particularly during pandemics when facilities face tough decisions about patient discharge. This innovation allows doctors to monitor patients remotely through an app, facilitating ongoing medical care at home. Patients can receive treatment with family support while doctors control the robot via its dedicated application.
By utilising Internet of Things (IoT) technology, this invention enables continuous monitoring of a patient's condition. It reduces hospitalisation costs by allowing home use. The system offers round-the-clock medical consultation and ensures quick emergency responses while keeping doctors informed.
Al Loughani also developed a website for doctors to monitor vital signs like heart rate and oxygen levels remotely. If a patient's heart rate drops below 40 or oxygen level falls under 90, alerts are sent to both doctor and family for rapid intervention. This ensures timely action in critical situations.
The invention leverages IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for constant patient monitoring and direct communication from any location. It allows tailored medication delivery based on follow-up results and facilitates hospital contact if necessary for streamlined transportation processes.
Recognition and Achievements
The Best Young Innovators Competition began in the United States to identify top young talents nationwide but has since expanded globally. It invites select international youth innovators as finalists chosen by a distinguished jury. This prestigious event encourages UAE's young minds towards innovation aligned with leadership's vision.
Recently, Al Loughani received the Leadership Sash and Medal along with two gold medals at London's 6th International Exhibition of Inventions and Trade. Supported by Digital Dubai, he stood out among 285 inventors worldwide despite being the youngest participant there.
Pioneering Inventions
At this exhibition, Al Loughani showcased two notable inventions: the ‘Ship Accident Prevention Project’ using AI technologies for maritime safety and environmental protection; and the ‘Hydropower’ project combining solar power with hydrogen fuel cells incorporating IoT technologies for hybrid energy generation efficiency.
Ali Al Loughani has consistently received numerous awards over years for his inventive contributions. In 2023, he gained recognition at Malaysia's Technology Innovation Exhibition for creating a robot assisting senior citizens daily using IoT technologies. Competing against 700 inventors from 19 countries then secured him second place in young inventors’ category.
