Emirati Human Resources Development Council Partners With Jafza To Boost Emiratisation Efforts

The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has partnered with the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to boost the employment of Emirati nationals in Jafza-based companies. The initiative focuses on equipping UAE nationals with essential skills for strategic sectors like logistics, port operations, and supply chain management, aligning with the UAE's vision to become a global logistics hub.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of EHRDC and Director-General of Dubai's Human Resources Department, signed the MoU alongside Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director of DP World GCC. Both parties are committed to supporting national Emiratisation objectives by providing Emiratis with the necessary skills for success across various industries. This partnership will promote recruitment and career development for qualified Emirati candidates within Jafza.

EHRDC and Jafza Collaborate on Emiratisation

To facilitate this, EHRDC and Jafza will organise job fairs to showcase employment opportunities in Jafza-based companies. These events will highlight available roles and encourage Emiratis to engage in practical and vocational training. Such initiatives aim to enhance their hands-on experience and ease their transition into the workforce.

Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of EHRDC, emphasised the partnership's significance: "Our partnership with Jafza marks a significant step toward expanding career pathways for Emiratis in vital industries such as logistics and trade. By leveraging DP World and Jafza's extensive expertise and resources, we aim to create tailored development programmes that equip UAE nationals with the skills and knowledge needed for long-term success."

Jafza hosts over 10,700 companies, including more than 100 Fortune 500 firms. This diverse ecosystem offers Emiratis unique opportunities across various sectors like logistics, trade, technology, and sustainability. It serves as an ideal environment for talent incubation, allowing Emiratis to explore and advance their careers.

Commitment to Local Talent Development

Abdulla Bin Damithan highlighted DP World's dedication: "At DP World, developing local talent is at the heart of our strategy. With Jafza being a key economic engine for Dubai and one of the most prominent free zones globally, this MoU will open the doors to new opportunities for UAE nationals . This collaboration underscores our dedication to developing a competitive Emirati workforce, further solidifying the UAE's position as a global trade and logistics hub."

As part of this agreement, EHRDC will ensure that Emiratis employed by Jafza companies benefit from 'NAFIS,' the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Programme. This integration aims to provide them with access to initiatives and incentives designed to enhance their competitiveness in the job market.

This strategic partnership between EHRDC and Jafza represents a crucial step towards empowering UAE nationals with skills needed for thriving careers in key economic sectors. By fostering local talent development through tailored programmes and initiatives, it strengthens the UAE's position as a leading global trade hub while supporting national goals for increased Emiratisation.
