UAE And China Launch Strategic Police Dialogue To Bolster Security Ties
In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, H.H. Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the UAE, warmly received Wang Xiaohong, State Counselor and Minister of Public Security of China, and his delegation on an official visit. This meeting underscored the mutual interest in enhancing cooperation across various sectors, especially in security and law enforcement.
The discussions between Sheikh Saif bin Zayed and Wang Xiaohong focused on the existing ties between the UAE and China, exploring avenues to further strengthen these relationships. The talks paved the way for an expanded meeting, chaired by the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister, with the Chinese delegation. This session marked the initiation of strategic police dialogue under the umbrella of their strategic cooperation, aiming to deepen relations and expand knowledge exchange in tackling cross-border crime, cybercrime, and organised crime.

Representing the UAE were notable figures including Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police; Major General Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services; Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Smart Services and Digital Security; and Brigadier Dr. Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development. These officials played a crucial role in representing the Emirati side during the discussions.
The Chinese delegation comprised distinguished members such as Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE; Sun Guangyu, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council of China; Xiu Da Tong, Deputy Minister of Public Security of China; Hu Da Peng, Director-General of the General Court of China. Additionally, Hu Bin Chen, Director-General of the International Cooperation Department; Liu Zhongyi, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department; Tan Xue, Director-General of the Network Security Department; along with several other officials were present to represent China.
This high-level meeting between UAE and Chinese officials highlights a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through strategic dialogue and cooperation in security matters. By sharing best practices in policing and addressing common challenges such as cybercrime and organised crime, both nations aim to foster a safer global environment. This collaboration reflects a broader trend towards international cooperation in combating global security threats.
