EmiratesSkills Team Secures 13 Medals At WorldSkills Asia Abu Dhabi 2023

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, recently hosted a reception for the EmiratesSkills team at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event celebrated their impressive achievement at WorldSkills Asia Abu Dhabi 2023, where they secured a total of 13 medals. The team's exceptional performance included seven gold medals, two bronze, four Medals of Excellence, and one prestigious Abu Dhabi Award for the competitor with the highest score across all categories.

The EmiratesSkills team stood out as the top performer among all participating countries, showcasing superior skills in diverse fields such as robotics, engineering and mechanics, healthcare, electronics and graphic design, and mechanical drawing. H.H. Sheikh Khaled expressed his immense pride in the team's accomplishments and acknowledged their hard work and perseverance. He emphasized the significance of continually enhancing the skills of national talent to boost competitiveness on both regional and international stages.

The 2nd WorldSkills Asia competition, held from 27th to 29th November 2023 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled, witnessed participation from 151 students representing 31 member and guest countries. Competitors engaged in 28 technical and vocational skills contests across various sectors. This event underscores the critical role of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in achieving sustainable development goals and fostering a skilled workforce to contribute to economic growth.

WorldSkills Asia, an international non-profit organization initiated by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), aims to highlight the value of TVET across Asia. The biennial competition covers a wide range of fields including construction and building technology; creative arts and fashion; information and communication technology; manufacturing and engineering technology; social and personal services; transportation and logistics; and junior skills.

The success of the EmiratesSkills team at WorldSkills Asia Abu Dhabi 2023 not only brings honor to their country but also serves as an inspiration for future generations.
