Emirates SkyCargo Launches Hydrogen-Powered Trucks To Enhance Sustainability Efforts
Emirates SkyCargo is set to introduce hydrogen-powered trucks into its fleet, working alongside Allied Transport Company. These trucks are currently being manufactured and are expected to join the fleet by the first quarter of 2026. This initiative is part of Emirates SkyCargo's efforts to transition towards alternative fuel vehicles.
The airline's existing fleet includes over 60 trucks that operate between Dubai World Central (DWC) and Dubai International Airport (DXB), as well as other domestic routes. The introduction of five hydrogen-powered trucks marks a significant step in reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality.

The new hydrogen trucks will match the capacity of current diesel models, able to transport up to 28 tonnes of cargo. They will be refuelled at two dedicated stations in Dubai, located at Expo City and Al Qudra Dewa station. A full tank will allow these trucks to travel up to 700 kilometres.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted the importance of this development. "The deployment of hydrogen-powered trucks into our fleet marks an exciting development in our strategy to reduce emissions in our ground operations. We will continue to explore more ways to integrate alternative fuels and technologies and scale up efforts that mitigate our environmental footprint without compromising on the high standards of service our customers expect."
Ali Bin Beyat, CEO of Allied Transport Company, expressed support for this initiative. "In partnership with Emirates SkyCargo, we are introducing Hydrogen-powered trucks across UAE-especially in Dubai-to support a cleaner and sustainable logistics future. This initiative aligns with Emirates SkyCargo's sustainability goals and supports the UAE's vision for a greener future."
This move not only aligns with Emirates SkyCargo's sustainability objectives but also supports the UAE's broader vision for an environmentally friendly future. The collaboration with Allied Transport Company underscores a shared commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining service quality.
