Emirates SkyCargo Expands Its Freighter Network By Adding Bangkok As New Destination
Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its network by introducing a weekly freighter service to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. This addition enhances the airline's already extensive route network, offering more options for regional customers to transport goods globally through Dubai. Emirates SkyCargo now reaches 43 destinations worldwide with its dedicated freighter fleet, including 11 in East and Southeast Asia.
Badr Abbas, Emirates SkyCargo’s Divisional Senior Vice President, stated, "Our operations across East and Southeast Asia are among the most expansive on our global network, from flight frequencies, freighter deployment, available capacity and gateways served. However, the demand is exponential and therefore the region will be the foundation of our expansion plans through 2026 and beyond."

The airline has increased its freighter services to Hanoi to four times a week due to high demand. Three flights connect directly to Dubai World Central, while another links Dubai, Taipei, and Hanoi. This setup provides better support for Vietnamese customers needing direct access to Dubai.
In response to growing demand from mainland China, Emirates SkyCargo has also added a sixth weekly freighter service to Guangzhou. This service primarily transports consumer tech products, electrical goods, and eCommerce items. The airline often deploys additional freighters during peak seasons to maintain stable capacity.
Markets like Thailand and Vietnam are becoming central to global trade due to their advanced manufacturing capabilities and logistics infrastructure. Emirates SkyCargo is prepared to support this growth by ensuring quick and efficient global goods movement. The airline sees no signs of demand slowing down in these regions.
Over three decades, Emirates SkyCargo has methodically expanded its presence in East and Southeast Asia. It now operates 25 gateways with 45 freighter services weekly. Additionally, it offers 13 charter services and 315 passenger flights each week, providing a total capacity of 21,000 tonnes.
The strategic expansion across these regions reflects Emirates SkyCargo's commitment to supporting evolving digital economies and modern manufacturing sectors. By enhancing connectivity through Dubai, the airline aims to facilitate seamless global trade.
