Emirates To Serve Thousands Of Meal Boxes For Fasting Passengers This Ramadan

Emirates is set to offer a unique experience, reflecting the spirit of togetherness and generosity during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The airline will be serving thousands of meal boxes for fasting passengers, both onboard and at boarding gates. Besides, an enhanced selection of religious content and popular TV shows will also be available on Emirates' ice entertainment system. Traditional Ramadan dishes will be served to guests in Emirates' DXB lounges.

Ramadan Refreshments In The Lounges

Passengers visiting Emirates lounges in DXB will be greeted with traditional Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee during the Holy Month. The culinary offerings in the First and Business Class lounges will encompass a variety of hot and cold Arabic mezze, lentil soup, and main courses such as Arabic mixed grill with tahina, chicken kabsa, along with desserts like kunafa pistachio cream and a selection of traditional Arabic sweets. Dedicated prayer rooms and ablution facilities further ensure a serene environment for worship.

Emirates Iftar Boxes At Boarding Gates

At select Emirates Boarding Gates during Iftar time, fasting customers will receive complimentary Iftar boxes. These boxes are designed to help break the fast, containing essentials such as water, laban, a banana, and dates.

Announcements Of Iftar Time On-Air

To accommodate fasting Muslim passengers, Emirates employs a unique tool to accurately calculate the timings for Imsak and Iftar while in-flight. This calculation is based on the sunrise and sunset times of the location the aircraft is flying over, taking into account its longitude, latitude, and altitude. The captain will officially announce the Iftar time upon sunset.

Emirates Ramadan Meal Boxes Onboard

Starting 11 March, Emirates will offer nutritionally balanced Ramadan meal boxes across all cabin classes to select destinations. The meals, served in bespoke boxes inspired by the Emirati heritage of the Al Sadu weavers, will include a variety of light bites and sweet treats alongside traditional dates and laban. These special boxes will complement the regular hot meal service.

Supporting Emirates Customers On Umrah

Emirates will also cater to Umrah groups travelling to Jeddah and Medina during Ramadan by serving these special meal boxes. Additionally, passengers are entitled to check in one bottle of Islamic holy water 'ZAMZAM’ of up to 5 litres per person at DXB and various airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ramadan Content And Popular Series on Ice

Throughout Ramadan, Emirates’ ice will feature special religious content in Arabic and Urdu, including shows like Rehlet Hayat and Ramadan Mah e Rehmat, as well as the Holy Qur'an. Additionally, over 6500 channels of on-demand entertainment, including 550+ channels of Arabic movies and TV, as well as 450 channels of Arabic music and podcasts, will be available.

Ramadan Awareness Training For Emirates Staff

Emirates is committed to providing the highest levels of service during the Holy Month, evident through its Ramadan awareness training for cabin crew and on-ground teams. This training ensures operational teams understand the cultural significance of Ramadan and are prepared to meet the specific needs of Muslim passengers during their travel journey.

With these thoughtful arrangements, Emirates aims to make the travel experience during Ramadan as comfortable and meaningful as possible for its fasting passengers, reflecting the true spirit of the Holy Month.
