Emirates Publishers Association Showcases Its Impact On The UAE Publishing Sector At Sharjah International Book Fair
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, visited the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) stand at the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair. Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of the Association, welcomed him warmly. During this visit, His Highness was informed about the Association's initiatives to advance the publishing industry both locally and regionally.
Al Kous shared a study with His Highness, conducted in partnership with TRENDS Research and Advisory Centre. This study examined the EPA's influence on the UAE's publishing sector under Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi's patronage. It highlighted challenges and opportunities in the industry while offering recommendations for its enhancement.

The study presented by Al Kous emphasised key challenges faced by the UAE's publishing sector. It also explored potential opportunities for growth. The findings aimed to provide insights into strengthening the industry further. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Honorary President of the EPA, has been instrumental in guiding these efforts.

A panel discussion titled "The Impact of the Emirates Publishers Association on Supporting the Cultural Publishing Movement" was moderated by Abdullah Al Khaja from Trends. HE Rashid Al Kous discussed with Sultan Al Ali from Trends Dubai sector about study results and future prospects for UAE's publishing sector.
The session highlighted how EPA plays an active role in shaping cultural publishing movements within UAE. The discussion provided valuable insights into how these efforts contribute to broader cultural development across various platforms.
Workshops and Collaborative Efforts
As part of book fair activities, EPA hosted a workshop led by Tamer Saeed from Sharjah International Agency for Literary Rights. This workshop focused on protecting publishers' rights in translation and publishing while regulating sales processes effectively.
The workshop also showcased how EPA helps deliver Arab cultural content globally through strategic collaborations with international partners. These efforts aim at expanding reach beyond regional boundaries while promoting diverse cultural exchanges worldwide.
Strengthening International Cooperation
Before launching Sharjah International Book Fair, EPA organised a meeting on 5 November between International Publishers Association (IPA) and Arab Publishers Association (APA). Karine Pansa from IPA attended alongside Abdullah Al Kaabi representing Emirates Publishers Association.
This meeting aimed at discussing Arab publishing issues while fostering cooperation between both parties involved. By exchanging expertise effectively during such interactions ensures sustainability within global publishing landscapes over time.
