Emirates Health Services Enhances Efficiency: Cuts 220 Procedures And Reduces Wait Times By 60%

Emirates Health Services (EHS) is making strides in enhancing government service efficiency and customer experience through the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. This initiative focuses on simplifying procedures to boost efficiency and strengthen the UAE's global competitiveness.

EHS has set a goal to implement 60 streamlining operations across its services. These efforts aim to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles that delay healthcare delivery. The projected outcomes include saving over 9 million workflow steps, reducing 1 million visits to service centres, and cutting down on more than 900,000 paper documents.

EHS Boosts Healthcare Efficiency

Additionally, the time required to access services has been reduced by 60 percent. This reduction translates into savings of over 80 million minutes for customers and more than AED 60 million in service costs.

Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, emphasised the organisation's commitment to adopting global best practices and innovative solutions. These efforts align with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme's objectives to enhance the UAE’s healthcare system's efficiency.

"These efforts not only improve the customer experience but also support the nation's strategy to achieve the 'We the UAE 2031' vision, ultimately contributing to the UAE Centennial Plan 2071," Dr. Al Serkal stated.

Diverse Initiatives for Better Accessibility

The zero-bureaucracy initiatives at EHS encompass various projects aimed at simplifying admission procedures for healthcare facilities and streamlining patient journeys for obtaining medications and medical supplies. Other projects focus on facilitating medical appointment bookings and expanding telemedicine services to a broader audience.

EHS has also launched a preventive dental screening program for school students and reduced the time required for diagnostic breast imaging services. These initiatives are designed to make healthcare services more accessible and efficient.

Ongoing Projects and Strategic Planning

Ongoing projects at EHS include accelerating medical fitness tests for residence visas, university students, and new employees. The organisation is also launching virtual clinics, simplifying procedures for obtaining birth and death certificates, and enhancing processes for issuing and renewing health cards for People of Determination.

EHS is intensifying its efforts by establishing a strategic plan aimed at implementing the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme to achieve long-term results. It is committed to regularly evaluating performance to ensure sustainability of improvements, thereby boosting the UAE's global competitiveness.

The ongoing commitment from EHS ensures that these initiatives will continue to evolve, making healthcare services more efficient and accessible while supporting national strategies for future growth.
