Emirates Health Services Highlights Women's Achievements On Emirati Women's Day
Emirates Health Services (EHS) recently organised the "Collaborating for a Sustainable Healthy Tomorrow" forum at its Training and Development Center in Sharjah. This event coincided with the UAE's celebration of Emirati Women’s Day on 28th August. The forum was held under the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The forum aimed to highlight the UAE's progress in women's empowerment and celebrate the remarkable achievements of Emirati women in healthcare. It emphasised their vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services and achieving significant milestones that elevate EHS' standing locally, regionally, and globally. The event also stressed the importance of ongoing development and empowerment for Emirati women.

Dr. Yousif Mohamed AlSerkal, Director-General of EHS, praised Emirati women for their inspiring achievements across various fields. He noted that their influence extends beyond societal engagement as they have ascended to leadership roles in their respective domains. AlSerkal expressed pride in their pivotal role in the country's comprehensive development journey.
AlSerkal highlighted that Emirati women are essential to enhancing the UAE's global standing. He emphasised the unwavering support from wise leadership in empowering women to achieve success and excellence in all their aspirations. He also pointed out that this occasion is a unique opportunity to honour women and shed light on their active role, especially in healthcare.
The forum featured a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Ameera Saif Al Khaja, Director of Primary Healthcare Centers in Sharjah at EHS and a family medicine consultant. The panel included five inspiring Emirati women from diverse fields such as medicine, engineering, pharmacy, and nursing. Among them were Nurse Zainab Hashem Al Ali, Engineer Samiha AlZarouni, Aisha Al Neaimi, Dr. Fatima Al Marzooqi, and Pharmacist Moza Al Falasi.
The panel delved into three key themes: exemplary models in empowering women and success stories, initiatives by EHS and the UAE to support women, as well as future aspirations. This discussion provided valuable insights into how these women have overcome challenges and contributed significantly to their respective fields.

Dr. Sara AlShaya, Director of the Data and Statistics Department at EHS, highlighted the impressive milestones reached by Emirati women in healthcare. Their intelligence, expertise, and dedication have enabled them to serve their nation effectively. Through continuous learning and training, they have taken on leadership roles and made lasting contributions to the sector's advancement.
The event also included a video presentation showcasing the achievements of Emirati women in healthcare. This presentation emphasised their significant contributions to advancements in various high-quality services provided by EHS.

The forum concluded with an engaging competition segment for attendees. This interactive session added an element of fun while reinforcing the day's themes of empowerment and achievement.
