Emirates Franchise Association Showcases UAE's Leadership At World Franchise Council Meetings
The Emirates Franchise Association (EFA) recently showcased the United Arab Emirates' influence in the global franchise sector at the World Franchise Council meetings and Indonesia Franchise Week 2025 in Jakarta. This participation highlighted the UAE's leadership in franchising and EFA's efforts to promote Emirati brands internationally.
Indonesia Franchise Week 2025, organised by the Indonesian Franchise Association with government and business partners, gathered franchise associations, investors, and policymakers worldwide. The event focused on sharing insights into global franchise trends, digital transformation, and strategies for cross-border brand growth.

Noor Altamimi, Chairwoman of EFA, led the UAE delegation alongside Maher Al Aleeli, Vice Chairman. They attended World Franchise Council and Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation meetings, a gala dinner, and specialised sessions on franchising. Altamimi stated that their participation demonstrates the UAE's dedication to shaping global franchising's future and connecting regional and international markets.
Altamimi emphasised EFA's pivotal role in establishing the UAE as a regional hub for franchise development. The association fosters collaboration, supports innovation, and promotes best practices to enhance business competitiveness. She noted that representing the UAE at the World Franchise Council offers a platform to share success stories and attract international franchises.
EFA's involvement resulted in significant outcomes. The association joined other Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation members in signing the Jakarta Declaration. This commitment aims to deepen regional cooperation and promote responsible franchise growth. The delegation also established new collaboration channels with counterparts from Asia, Europe, and Latin America for joint initiatives in 2026.
The Emirates Franchise Association operates under Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's umbrella. It focuses on promoting franchising growth and sustainability in the UAE through capacity building, policy advocacy, and international cooperation. By strengthening its role in the World Franchise Council, EFA expands opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
"The UAE continues to strengthen its position as a global business destination," Altamimi said. "Underpinned by robust legislation, advanced infrastructure, and a dynamic entrepreneurial environment." She expressed eagerness to welcome the global franchise community to Abu Dhabi soon.
EFA's efforts reinforce the UAE as a leading destination for franchise development and investment. Their engagement at these events underscores their commitment to enhancing business opportunities for Emirati brands globally.
