Emirates Falconers Club To Highlight Tradition And Innovation At ADIHEX 2024

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) is set to return for its 21st edition. The event will take place from 31st August to 8th September 2024 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. This year’s exhibition, organised in collaboration with strategic partner ADNEC Group, promises to be the largest yet.

A key feature of ADIHEX 2024 is the Falcon Auction, which will occur in two rounds: the first on 31st August and 1st September, and the second on 6th and 7th September. The auction will run from 19:30 to 20:30 each day, showcasing between 10 to 20 falcons daily. Each bird will come with detailed statistics and measurements, ensuring transparency for potential buyers.

The auction is open to all falconers who meet specific criteria set by the Emirates Falconers’ Club. Falcon farm owners must register through the ADIHEX mobile app and pay a refundable participation insurance fee of AED5,000. This ensures that only high-quality birds are presented at the auction.

This year introduces the ADIHEX Falcons Badge, a new initiative recognising high-quality falcons purchased at the event. Eligible birds will be evaluated by the Emirates Falconers’ Club and, if approved, receive a Smart Ring for a registration fee of AED150. These approved falcons will be added to the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club system, making them eligible for the Presidents Championship 2024-2025.

Falconry has been an integral part of Emirati culture for over 2,000 years. It symbolises patience, cooperation, and a deep connection between falconers and their birds. Recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, falconry continues to be a significant aspect of Emirati identity and sustainability efforts.
