Emirates Strengthens Strategic Partnership With Cruise Lines International Association To Boost Dubai's Cruise Market

Emirates has extended its Diamond Elite executive partnership with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). This collaboration allows Emirates to engage more deeply with cruise industry leaders and boost its presence in major cruise markets. CLIA represents over 90% of the global ocean cruise fleet, including more than 55 cruise lines, offering Emirates a strategic advantage.

The partnership aligns with Emirates' vision to enhance Dubai's status as a leading global cruise hub. The airline aims to capitalise on the sector's growth by increasing its visibility and engagement within the industry. This move supports Dubai's position as a premier destination for cruise travellers.

Emirates Extends Partnership with CLIA

Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the extension of their partnership with CLIA is timely. He noted the cruise industry's resilience and strong demand across various traveller segments. "The extension of our Diamond Elite Partnership with CLIA comes at the right time for Emirates," he said.

Kazim emphasised that Emirates plans to leverage this growth opportunity through CLIA’s extensive network of executive partners, travel trade members, and advisors. The goal is to increase cruise passenger arrivals using Emirates' superior network and premium offerings.

Kazim also highlighted Dubai's rise as a top cruise destination. He mentioned that collaborative efforts have resulted in an integrated air-land-sea proposition for Dubai. This includes world-class maritime infrastructure, iconic tourist attractions, and excellent air connectivity.

"Our CLIA executive partnership also reinforces Dubai's emergence as one of the world’s best cruise destinations," Kazim added. The airline remains committed to enhancing Dubai's appeal to an expanding base of cruise travellers.

Karyn Gruenberg, CLIA’s Managing Director of Enterprise Development and Senior Vice President of Membership, praised Emirates' role in the industry. She said, "Emirates is a valued partner to the cruise industry." Gruenberg noted that their ongoing engagement demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering industry relationships.

Gruenberg highlighted that by 2025, 37.1 million passengers are expected to sail globally, with Dubai growing as a key destination and homeport. Through their partnership with CLIA, Emirates is well-positioned to collaborate with decision-makers in this emerging market.

As a Diamond Elite Executive Partner with CLIA, Emirates gains privileged access to industry leadership through exclusive events. The airline will secure premier sponsorship opportunities at key gatherings while enhancing its visibility in crucial markets.

The elevated partnership provides access to essential industry research and insights on passenger demographics and trends. Emirates can promote its fly-cruise packages and crew movement solutions while benefiting from brand positioning across CLIA's digital platforms.

This strategic alliance underscores Emirates' commitment to supporting the cruise industry's growth while reinforcing Dubai's status as a leading global hub for cruise tourism.
