Emirates Environmental Group Launches 23rd Edition Of Clean UAE Campaign On December 5 To Promote Sustainability
The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) has unveiled the 23rd edition of its annual "Clean UAE" campaign, commencing on 5th December. Under the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment's patronage, this initiative invites sponsors, organisations, academia, and individuals to actively engage in environmental conservation and demonstrate their dedication to sustainability.
The campaign aims to boost public understanding of pollution's environmental and health hazards. It encourages volunteerism and inspires communities to back national sustainability efforts. Regular participation in clean-ups helps enhance the natural beauty of tourist spots and public areas, allowing individuals and organisations to play a vital role in protecting the UAE’s environment.

Habiba Al Mar’ashi, EEG's Founder and Chairperson, emphasised the campaign's national scope across all seven emirates. Starting in Ajman on 5th December, it will proceed to Dubai on 7th December, Abu Dhabi on 9th December, Sharjah on 10th December, Fujairah on 11th December, Ras Al Khaimah on 12th December, and conclude in Umm Al Quwain on 14th December.
Al Mar’ashi highlighted that companies partnering with "Clean UAE" can align with a cause promoting sustainability. The campaign raises awareness about pollution's harmful effects while engaging communities in volunteer activities. Sponsorship packages offer branding opportunities, media exposure, and participation in tree planting and clean-up events.
She urged all societal segments to join the campaign through individual or organisational involvement. "This campaign is an ideal way for companies and community members alike to take meaningful action," she stated. Participants can contribute to preserving the UAE's beauty while promoting positive environmental practices.
Promoting Sustainable Practices
The campaign collaborates with local and federal government entities, academic institutions, private sector companies, and civil society organisations. It fosters a culture of preserving natural habitats by promoting recycling initiatives and encouraging recyclable materials' use in local industries. This approach aims to conserve natural resources and reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.
Launching such programmes underscores the importance of maintaining environmental values and guiding individual and societal behaviour towards supporting sustainability activities nationally. Continuous participation in cleaning touristic and public places highlights the UAE's natural and urban environment's beauty.
By participating in "Clean UAE," individuals can engage in positive initiatives that serve the community while promoting volunteerism more broadly. The campaign seeks to inspire widespread involvement in sustainability efforts across various sectors of society.
