Emirates Energy Forum 2025 Highlights UAE's Energy Transition Achievements And Future Strategies
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) recently hosted the third Emirates Energy Forum, gathering industry leaders to advance the UAE's energy transition goals. A key feature was the launch of the sixth UAE State of Energy Report, which details recent energy sector developments. The report's seven chapters cover policies, visions, and innovations aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted the forum's role in showcasing the UAE's dedication to a sustainable energy future. He stated, "The Emirates Energy Forum reflects the country’s steadfast commitment to building a sustainable and resilient energy sector capable of keeping pace with global transformations." This commitment is evident in the UAE State of Energy Report, which serves as a national reference for progress and future plans.

The report was developed by MoEI with input from strategic partners and experts across various fields related to net zero and energy. It was supported by several sponsors: Department of Energy-Abu Dhabi as title sponsor, ADNOC and DEWA as platinum sponsors, EAD as gold sponsor, and Dolphin Energy as silver sponsor.
During the forum, Al Mazrouei honoured winners of the ninth UAE Energy Management Award. EMSTEEL Group took first place, Dubai Municipality – Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department came second, and Agthia Group secured third. The award promotes energy efficiency culture through ISO 50001 standard adherence.
The event also included a youth panel where young participants shared ideas on energy transition and sustainability. This platform allowed them to contribute to shaping the UAE’s energy landscape by discussing topics like climate change and sustainable development.
Exploring Innovations in Clean Energy
Two technical panels were featured at the forum. Experts discussed investment dynamics in energy transition and innovation through AI and R&D. These discussions will inform the Ministry’s strategies for advancing the country's energy transition efforts.
Al Mazrouei emphasised that the UAE's achievements stem from leadership that views energy security and sustainability as complementary paths. He noted that investments in clean energy projects demonstrate this vision by balancing economic growth with emissions reduction.
Future Directions for UAE's Energy Sector
The Emirates Energy Forum is a significant biennial event promoting clean energy transition. It celebrates achievements while guiding future directions for the UAE’s energy sector. By transforming climate commitments into opportunities, it strengthens international partnerships for accelerated climate action.
The forum underscored how effective partnerships, innovation, and data-driven policymaking enhance the UAE’s position as a global hub for clean energy. This approach ensures a safe future for coming generations while maintaining economic growth.
