Emirates Dermatology Conference Unveils Two New Medications For Patients In The UAE

Dr. Ayman Al-Naeem, who leads the Emirates Dermatology Society and chairs the 9th Emirates Dermatology Conference at InterContinental Dubai Festival City, has announced the introduction of two new medications in the UAE. These drugs have received swift approval from top international regulatory bodies, marking a significant step in medical advancements within the country.

The UAE is recognised for its rapid pharmaceutical registration processes, making it an attractive market for global drug manufacturers to introduce their latest products. Dr. Al-Naeem highlighted that the nation's leadership prioritises providing cutting-edge medications to ease the suffering of both citizens and residents.

New Drugs Introduced at Emirates Dermatology Conference

The first medication addresses hidradenitis suppurativa, an autoimmune inflammatory disease with severe symptoms. This treatment involves a bi-weekly injection, administered every 14 days indefinitely, to manage these challenging symptoms effectively.

The second medication targets bullous dermatoses, a chronic skin condition mainly affecting those over sixty years old and rarely children. This biological therapy is given once every two weeks and is covered by insurance companies in the UAE.

The ongoing 9th Dermatology Conference has been discussing recent research and successful global practices in treating complex skin diseases. Dr. Al-Naeem noted that dermatologists are now using artificial intelligence to diagnose skin conditions more accurately, allowing for tailored treatments for each patient.

The conference also showcased advancements in dermatologic science, laser technologies, and aesthetic medicine. These innovations aim to improve healthcare quality and equip physicians with advanced skills and knowledge for daily practice, ensuring high standards of care for dermatology patients.

Dr. Al-Naeem emphasised that these developments are part of a broader effort to enhance healthcare quality in the UAE. By equipping doctors with advanced skills and knowledge, the conference aims to ensure that patients receive top-notch care tailored to their specific needs.
