Emirates Critical Care Conference Launches In Dubai Alongside WFICC World Summit
The 21st Emirates Critical Care Conference began at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel in Dubai. It coincides with the 2nd World Summit of the World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC). This event also runs alongside the 7th Global Network for Emergency Medicine (GNEM) and the 16th Asia Africa Conference of the WFICC. The conference is organised with several other significant medical gatherings.
Prof. Dr. Hussein Al Rahma, Chairman of the Conference, highlighted its growth since 2004. Initially, it had 300 participants; now, it attracts over 2,000 attendees annually from around the world. This year, participants come from 45 countries. The conference is recognised as a leading event in the Middle East and North Africa and ranks third globally.

Prof. Hussain Al Rahma mentioned that Info Plus Events organises this conference, which currently involves 60% of international medical associations. He aims to increase this to over 90% by 2028. The event's growth is evident in the rising number of international speakers and high-quality scientific papers presented each year.
This year's edition features 275 speakers, including 130 international experts and 80 local specialists. Over three days, attendees will engage in 381 lectures across 77 scientific sessions. Additionally, there are four scientific workshops, four training courses, and six industry-focused seminars.
The conference will present 131 scientific research papers by doctors and resident physicians. These papers cover diverse topics such as sepsis, infections, fluid management in intensive care units, nephrology, acute kidney injury, mechanical ventilation, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), anaesthesia, pain management, cardiology, clinical nutrition, geriatric care, CPR, and infection surveillance.
All scientific papers reflect collective experiences and findings from critical care professionals worldwide. The aim is to share best practices and treatment protocols developed over recent years.
Memoranda of Understanding
The conference saw the signing of three memoranda of understanding: one with the International Federation of Intensive Care Societies; another with the International Federation of Intensive Care Nursing; and a third with the International Academy of Fluids in critical care departments.
Participants will earn 22.5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). This accreditation underscores the educational value provided by attending this event.
Exhibition Highlights
An exhibition accompanies the conference featuring participation from 34 international and local companies specialising in critical care equipment and ventilators. These companies showcase their latest innovations and products in critical care medicine.
The exhibition highlights Dubai’s role as a strategic hub for global medical companies aiming for growth within regional markets. Dr. Younis Kazim from DHA joined others to inaugurate this exhibition following the opening session.
