Emirates College For Advanced Education Reports Significant Growth And Educator Empowerment Initiatives In 2024
The Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) has achieved significant milestones in 2024, with a remarkable 131% rise in student enrolment for the 2024–2025 academic year. This increase effectively doubled the college's student population. Additionally, ECAE celebrated a 100% employment rate among its graduates, highlighting the effectiveness of its programmes in preparing educators for successful careers.
ECAE's Continuing Education Center (CEC) played a crucial role by training over 17,000 educators through nearly 350 professional development programmes. Accredited by ACTVET and the National Qualifications Center (NQC), the CEC contributed more than seven million learning hours, underscoring its importance in equipping educators with future-ready skills.

In 2024, ECAE launched a renewed strategic vision and brand identity while strengthening global partnerships. Collaborating with Singapore’s National Institute of Education (NIE), ECAE initiated phase two of the Strategic Framework for Educational Excellence. This partnership enhances ECAE's ability to prepare educators as global leaders while aligning with Emirati values and addressing national educational priorities.
To address critical gaps in the UAE’s educational framework, ECAE introduced specialised tracks in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, enrolling over 75 students. The college also added two extra student intakes in 2024. These initiatives reflect ECAE’s commitment to enhancing its curriculum through a robust competency framework that equips educators with specialised skills for future challenges.
ECAE strengthened its leadership in educational research through globally recognised contributions. Faculty members published over 30 articles in top-tier academic journals and presented more than 100 papers at prestigious international conferences. They also produced over ten policy briefs to inform evidence-based educational practices.
Key research highlights included using the metaverse to enhance problem-solving in mathematics and piloting Generative AI for Arabic language teaching. Other studies focused on promoting autism awareness and inclusion in UAE schools, exploring gender disparities in STEM, and using multimedia tools for inquiry-based learning.
Expanding Professional Development Platforms
ECAE expanded its professional development platforms by launching initiatives like the iLearn Forum. This monthly platform brings together educators, researchers, and academics to share best practices and explore advancements in education. The iRead initiative further inspired a love for reading among students and teachers, making reading an engaging part of learning.
The college's global influence grew as researchers secured book publications with leading academic publishers such as Springer and Routledge. Recognition on Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list highlighted the calibre of ECAE’s research team. Joining the World Education Research Association (WERA) expanded opportunities for international collaboration.
Innovative Educational Technology at GITEX GLOBAL
At GITEX GLOBAL 2024, ECAE showcased innovative educational technology solutions, unveiling AI-powered tools and immersive Virtual Reality (VR) applications. Through its Learning and Innovation Networked Communities (LINC) initiative, developed with the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), ECAE connected over 16 schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to promote innovative teaching practices.
ECAE submitted 12 targeted grant proposals to advance national priorities further, including those to the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. These efforts reinforce ECAE's drive to deliver impactful research locally and globally.
Dr. May Laith AlTaee, Vice Chancellor at ECAE, stated: "This year has been a defining moment for ECAE as we continue to equip educators with the tools, skills, and knowledge to make a meaningful impact on UAE schools. Our record enrollment growth and the success of our graduates highlight the relevance of our programmes."
