Emirates Franchise Development Body Holds First Meeting, Sets Future Path

The Emirates Association for Franchise Development (FAD), led by Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Chairman of FAD, recently conducted its first meeting. The gathering included FAD board members such as Mohamed Ahmed Amin, Director-General of the Sharjah Chamber; Maher Taresh Obaid AL Aleeli, Board Member of the Ajman Chamber; Ammar Rashid Al Aleeli, General Manager of the Umm Al Quwain Chamber; Aaref Khalifa Almuzakki, Board Member of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber; Sultan Jemei AlHindasi, Director-General of the Fujairah Chamber; and Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Director-General of Al Islami Food Company representing Dubai.

During this initial meeting, FAD Board Members reviewed and discussed updates to the Articles of Association before officially approving them. These articles outline the association’s strategy, roles, and commitment to providing services, consultations, and guidance to entrepreneurs in franchising based on advanced professional standards aligned with international best practices.

Franchise Body's Inaugural Meet

The meeting also focused on nominating 2 to 5 private sector companies and institutions from each emirate. These representatives will participate in the association’s subcommittees and represent their respective emirates.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi highlighted that the Abu Dhabi Chamber was among the first contributors to establishing FAD. He stated, "Since 2017, FAD has held a prominent position as an official member of the World Franchise Council," emphasising FAD's role in advancing UAE's economic goals by diversifying and expanding private sector contributions through franchise development.

Board Members commended UAE's efforts in promoting the franchise sector. They noted FAD's dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening ties with global franchising networks. They stressed FAD's initiatives to support entrepreneurs, protect franchising rights, and raise awareness about innovative and sustainable franchising benefits that contribute to UAE's national economy growth.

The association aims to offer services that adhere to high professional standards. This approach ensures that entrepreneurs receive top-notch guidance in franchising based on international best practices.
