Emirates Arabian Horse Society Organises Al Watan Championship In Benghazi To Promote Equestrian Heritage
The Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS) is collaborating with the National Authority for Equestrian, Camel and Heritage Sports in Libya to organise the Al Watan Arabian Horse Championship. This event will see participation from numerous studs and owners across various Libyan cities. The championship highlights a shared commitment to advancing Arabian Horse Championships and celebrating the cultural heritage symbolised by Arabian horses.
A total of 122 horses, owned by 37 different individuals, are set to compete in this championship. Registration for these horses is conducted through the EAHS's official website. The event will feature an electronic arbitration system that provides instant results on large screens, covering categories like Yearling Colts and Fillies, 2- and 3-Year-Old Colts and Fillies, as well as Mares and Stallions.

Alongside the championship, a training programme will begin on October 18. This programme includes workshops and specialised technical courses focusing on essential topics such as the role of the disciplinary committee, duties of the ringmaster, and responsibilities of presenters. These sessions aim to improve skills in organising Arabian horse championships while promoting knowledge exchange in presentation and arbitration according to standards.
The training initiative primarily aims to empower the Libyan technical team by enhancing its capabilities and aligning its operations with global best practices. Through this effort, EAHS demonstrates its dedication to supporting Purebred Arabian horse activities while preserving their cultural significance.
