Fontainebleau Hosts Successful 4th Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup
The Equestrian Arena Le Grand Parquet in Fontainebleau, France, recently hosted the fourth show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) for the 2024 season. This event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), oversaw the event. The EAHGC includes ten rounds held across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Each round offers valuable cash prizes for the top five winners.

Mohamed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director-General of EAHS, crowned the winners at the event. He was joined by Ahmed Al Mulla, Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy in France, Ali Al Amari, Head of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy, and Adel Al Amiri, Head of Political Affairs.
In the Junior Fillies Championship, Ooona Umm won gold for Moell and Moell Arabians. Gloryana secured silver for owner Rob Heijmans, while Lilly X took bronze for Joost Boel – Elizar Arabians. Amos SH from SEA Horse Stud clinched gold in another category, with TSL Majeed and Magadi De Nautiac taking silver and bronze respectively.
Senior Championships
The Senior Mares Championship saw Vilma BV (Yeguada Bautista) winning gold. Yvie took silver for Mr. and Mrs. D Smith, and Carayon Jeromes Lohenberg Kalinka earned bronze. In the Senior Stallions Championship, Ali Khan won gold for Paula Bohmer. Pegase Du Castel earned silver for Gastelu Arnaud – Azlizea Sarl, while Ase Farhan from L’Ecurie Swiss took bronze.
Upcoming Events
The tournament featured top Arabian horses from France and various EU countries. It is one of three events held in Europe this season. The second leg will take place on 15th June in Denmark, followed by the third leg in the Czech Republic on 23rd August 2024.
Support and Success
Director-General Al Harbi expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support in hosting EAHGC events worldwide. He noted that the Fontainebleau event was successful with strong participation from owners and breeders.
Al Harbi confirmed that necessary steps are being taken to support owners and breeders globally through distinguished competitions that offer prizes. He added that EAHGC shows have secured a notable place in regions where support is needed to preserve Arabian horses.
Previous Events
The first show of the 2024 EAHGC season was held last February in Australia during the Australian International Arabian Championship at Willinga Park in Bawley Point. The second show took place in Manama, Bahrain from 14th to 16th March. The third show was held in Scottsdale, Arizona last March alongside the Arabian Breeders World Cup.
