Abu Dhabi Ensures Comprehensive Healthcare For Women And Children Amid Global Health Changes

In Abu Dhabi, the focus on women's and children's health is crucial for future prosperity, according to Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. He emphasised their role as foundational to building a healthier society.

Al Mansouri highlighted that Abu Dhabi is committed to comprehensive care for women and children. This includes enhancing primary care, expanding preventive measures like premarital genetic testing and newborn screening, and advancing vaccination programmes.

Abu Dhabi's Focus on Women's and Children's Health

Significant developments are underway with plans for a specialised medical city dedicated to women's and children's healthcare. This initiative will see Sheikh Khalifa Medical City become a Centre of Excellence for paediatric care. Additionally, the new Corniche hospital will focus on women's health and newborn care. A rehabilitation facility and a mental health centre for women and children are also part of this plan.

The global healthcare landscape is rapidly evolving from reactive to proactive wellness-focused approaches. This year's World Health Day theme, 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,' underscores the importance of women's and children's health in building healthier communities worldwide.

This occasion provides an opportunity for healthcare systems globally to adopt innovative strategies that enhance the well-being of women and children. In Abu Dhabi, efforts are being made to explore transformative initiatives aimed at creating an intelligent, patient-centric healthcare system.

This advanced system aims to predict, prevent, and personalise healthcare services. It empowers community members to lead longer, healthier lives by focusing on proactive health measures rather than reactive treatments.

The Role of Health Data

Health data plays a crucial role in shaping Abu Dhabi's healthcare ecosystem. It provides deep insights that help enhance services and anticipate community needs. The integration of genomics further enriches this approach by enabling precision in healthcare delivery.

Mansour Al Mansouri stated that these efforts reaffirm Abu Dhabi's commitment to developing one of the most intelligent healthcare systems globally. The goal is to ensure that community members can enjoy longer and healthier lives through personalised care.
