Emerson's Samer Najm Highlights 80% Of Industrial Output Exported From UAE To Global Markets
The UAE has emerged as a pivotal centre for industrial automation and smart transformation in the energy sector, according to Samer Najm, Strategic Account Director of Emerson Automation Solutions. He highlighted that approximately 80% of Emerson's industrial production in the UAE is exported to both regional and international markets.
Najm emphasised that Emerson's manufacturing facilities in Jebel Ali are crucial for producing industrial valves and sensors. These components are essential across various stages of the energy sector, including oil, gas, and renewable energy. The UAE-based factories not only cater to the Middle East and Africa but also support Emerson’s global operations when extra production capacity is needed.

Emerson's technology and engineering solutions cover the entire energy value chain, from oil and gas to solar and nuclear power. Their offerings range from sensors and valves to advanced software systems that boost operational productivity, reduce energy consumption, and lower emissions. Najm noted that artificial intelligence plays a vital role in optimising resource use and enhancing efficiency.
Smart solutions are now integrated from the engineering design phase of new projects through to data analysis for existing facilities. Some applications can simulate real operational processes, monitor performance in real time, and enable automated control for precision and sustainability.
Najm pointed out that Emerson has seen consistent growth in the UAE. The company's workforce has increased from about 600 employees three years ago to over 850 today. This expansion reflects Emerson's commitment to supporting its operations within the region while contributing to its global network.
The energy sector faces increasing challenges such as rising operating costs. Najm explained that smart solutions help address these issues by improving operational efficiency and reducing emissions. ADIPEC serves as a significant platform for expanding strategic partnerships and showcasing advancements in digital transformation technologies.
Najm described ADIPEC as an essential venue for demonstrating digital transformation and industrial automation technologies. It provides opportunities for forming strategic partnerships that are crucial for future growth in this rapidly evolving sector.
Emerson continues to play a significant role in advancing technological solutions within the energy industry. By leveraging its expertise in automation and smart transformation, the company aims to meet the growing demands of both regional and international markets effectively.
