Elon Musk And Jensen Huang Launch New Supercomputing Projects At US-Saudi Investment Forum

The US-Saudi Investment Forum's second edition featured a significant session on Wednesday, led by Abdullah Alswaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. This session included notable figures such as Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, Tesla, and SpaceX, and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA. They discussed the future of work and productivity in light of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics.

Musk and Huang unveiled several strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia's role in AI computing. These include developing new high-capacity data centers in the Kingdom and deploying Grok models nationwide. Additionally, they announced a 500-megawatt large-scale computing project and plans to deploy AI accelerators with AWS and NVIDIA.

Musk and Huang Announce AI Projects in Saudi Arabia

These announcements coincided with the launch of the Saudi–US AI Strategic Partnership. Musk highlighted a large-scale computing project in collaboration with NVIDIA. Meanwhile, Huang shared that NVIDIA is working with Saudi Arabia to build supercomputing systems. The company is also expanding partnerships with innovative firms like HUMAIN to implement advanced digital factories through the Omniverse platform.

Huang emphasized that AI has become integral to global infrastructure. He pointed out the advanced cooperation in high-performance computing, simulation, and digital laboratories. The growing computing capabilities being developed in Saudi Arabia through strategic partnerships were also highlighted.

Musk noted that technological advancements could make many jobs optional in the future. This shift is expected to usher in a new era of productivity and growth driven by smart technologies. Minister Alswaha showcased examples of Saudi innovation using AI to discover new materials and develop nanorobots for treating genetic diseases.

Alswaha highlighted the broad prospects these technologies offer for research and development. At the session's end, he remarked that these initiatives represent a concrete step towards a future powered by advanced computing capabilities. International partnerships will further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position in the global digital economy.
