ELIA Organises First UAE Libraries Forum To Enhance Cultural And Digital Transformation

The Emirates Library and Information Association (ELIA) is set to host the inaugural "Emirati Libraries Forum" at the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) headquarters on 9th and 10th October. This event aims to boost libraries' roles in culture and knowledge, while exploring digital transformation and creativity. It will bring together local and international library experts to share insights on recent developments.

Fahad Al Mamari, Chairman of ELIA, highlighted the forum's significance, stating: "The first Emirati Libraries Forum reflects our deep commitment to supporting and developing libraries as centers of knowledge and culture, especially in the face of the rapid digital transformations witnessed by the world. Through this forum, we aim to provide a platform that brings together experts and practitioners to propose new ideas and discuss effective strategies that ensure the sustainability and development of libraries, serving the Emirati community and enhancing their role as incubators of culture and creativity."

The forum will feature numerous panel discussions covering key topics like cultural heritage preservation, creative content, and challenges faced by libraries in smart communities.
