Eight Creative Projects Strengthen UK-Saudi Cultural Ties Through AlUla Grants Initiative

The Royal Commission for AlUla, in collaboration with the British Council, has unveiled eight UK–Saudi cultural projects awarded grants under the "AlUla Cultural Grants" initiative. This programme aims to encourage creative exchange and foster long-term cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. The selected projects highlight the ongoing cultural partnership between these two nations.

Chosen from a competitive pool of 78 applicants, the eight projects span various fields including visual and performing arts, film, archaeology, museums, architecture, design, and fashion. These initiatives will unite artists and cultural practitioners from both countries to co-create content, provide training, and promote sustainable cultural growth in AlUla.

AlUla Cultural Grants Support Eight Projects

The initiative is part of the Royal Commission for AlUla’s broader vision to transform the region into a premier destination for arts, heritage, and culture. By fostering partnerships with institutions and artists globally and within the Kingdom, it seeks to deepen cross-cultural connections and enhance sustainable global cooperation.

This effort also positions AlUla as a regional hub for cultural leadership and development. It leverages its rich historical heritage and unique natural environment to support human capacity building through sustainable practices in culture, arts, and archaeology.

The grant recipients' projects will be featured during the British Council’s 50th anniversary season in Saudi Arabia. This event will take place from November 2025 to February 2026. It coincides with the launch of the Al-Ula Arts Festival, further showcasing these collaborative efforts.

This initiative not only enriches AlUla's cultural landscape but also aligns with its commitment to becoming a world-class destination for culture. By supporting diverse artistic endeavours, it reinforces AlUla’s role as a leader in cultural development.
