Eid Al Etihad Celebrations Inspire UAE To Uphold National Values And Traditions

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, emphasised that Eid Al Etihad serves as a reminder to preserve the nation's core values and traditions. He highlighted the importance of passing these on to future generations. This day marks the UAE's foundation in 1971, a significant milestone in the Arab world, symbolising unity and progress.

On the occasion of Eid Al Etihad, Sheikh Mohammed extended his heartfelt greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other Emirati leaders. He expressed gratitude towards the Founding Fathers for their vision and determination in establishing a unique model of unity. Their legacy continues to inspire current and future generations.

Eid Al Etihad Inspires UAE Values

The UAE has made significant strides in global development indices over the past year. This progress reflects effective national strategies, economic strength, and legislative quality. The country also boasts high security and stability levels, contributing to an excellent quality of life for its citizens and residents.

In 2017, the UAE pioneered a national artificial intelligence strategy by appointing Chief AI Officers across federal entities. The establishment of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019 further underscores this commitment. These initiatives highlight AI as a priority in national planning and capacity building.

During the 7th UAE Government Annual Meetings in November, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2026 as the Year of the Family. This initiative supports the National Family Growth Agenda 2031, emphasising families' role in shaping culture, values, and identity. Strong Emirati families are vital for the nation's future amidst globalisation pressures.

The youth of the UAE are seen as both pride and promise for the future. They are dedicated to learning and adapting to new challenges while using their skills for national service. Their engagement with global developments is crucial for sustaining progress.

Honouring Contributions

Sheikh Mohammed expressed deep appreciation for those who contribute to safeguarding the nation. He acknowledged armed forces, security agencies, civil protection authorities, and families instilling Emirati values in children. Recognition was also given to young professionals excelling in fields like space science and healthcare.

The UAE is recognised globally for its humanitarian contributions, being the largest donor relative to Gross National Income. This reputation highlights its commitment to aiding others while maintaining strong national development.

"On this day in 1971," Sheikh Mohammed stated, "our Founding Fathers laid the foundations of a unique model of unity in our region and the wider Arab world." He noted that history records it as the birth of the United Arab Emirates.

Eid Al Etihad is not only about celebrating past achievements but also about building on them for future success. The focus remains on turning ambitions into reality through talent and capabilities while maintaining strong principles.

"May Allah help us achieve our goals," Sheikh Mohammed concluded, "and continue strengthening the UAE." His words reflect hope for ongoing prosperity and dedication towards serving the nation with commitment.
