Ehsan Platform In Saudi Arabia Benefits Over 4.8 Million With Charitable Donations
The National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan), a pioneering digital platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has made significant strides in the realm of charitable donations since its inception by royal decree in 2021. Utilizing advanced technologies, Ehsan has successfully facilitated the process for benefactors to make donations, ensuring swift delivery to those in need. To date, the platform has amassed donations exceeding SAR5 billion, benefiting over 4.8 million individuals across the Kingdom.
Ehsan's achievements have not gone unnoticed, as it was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most significant amount of daily donations received worldwide within 24 hours. This record was set on the 27th night of Ramadan last year, with more than 558,000 donors contributing to the welfare of 476,000 beneficiaries. The platform's current campaign, approved by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, runs from Friday, March 15 to the end of Ramadan, highlighting the leadership's commitment to humanitarian and benevolent deeds.

At its core, Ehsan leverages data and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the impact and sustainability of development projects and services. The platform aims to foster an effective system through collaborations with government bodies, the private sector, and non-profit organizations. These efforts are in line with national initiatives designed to empower the charitable sector and bolster Saudi Arabia's leading role in philanthropy and developmental endeavors.
Ehsan streamlines the donation process through partnerships with approved institutions and civil associations. It works closely with entities such as the General Authority for Awqaf for endowment projects and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) for relief campaigns. Additionally, Ehsan cooperates with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for housing projects among others.
To ensure donations reach deserving cases, Ehsan introduced the Istihqaq service. This service verifies beneficiary eligibility in collaboration with government entities, supported by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). It aims to provide a unified database for evaluating beneficiaries' status, thereby facilitating access to underprivileged individuals who may not readily disclose their need for assistance.
Ehsan's initiatives extend beyond financial donations. The platform promotes a culture of donation and community solidarity through various charitable and awareness campaigns. These efforts are aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to support community projects and stand by humanitarian cases through reliable official channels.
One notable initiative is the launch of the Ehsan Endowment Fund. This fund provides sustainable endowment opportunities for benevolent individuals and entities, allowing them to contribute via its website and application. The fund represents a continuous charity whose impact endures through financial sustainability achieved by investing donated amounts into endowments and utilizing returns for various charitable activities.
The establishment of Ehsan by a royal decree underscores the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing charitable work through digital innovation. As a testament to this commitment, all contributions during various campaigns are received securely through Ehsan's application, website (Ehsan.sa), or via a dedicated phone number. This ensures that philanthropy in Saudi Arabia continues to thrive in an era marked by technological advancement.
