Egyptian President Highlights Risks Of Continued Conflicts On Regional Stability
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi recently met with France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Séjourné, along with his delegation. The meeting included Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty.
Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, the spokesman for the Presidency, stated that the French Minister conveyed greetings from French President Emmanuel Macron to President El-Sisi. President Macron had tasked Séjourné with a regional tour aimed at de-escalation efforts. The tour concluded in Egypt to update President El-Sisi on France’s progress in these efforts.

The French Foreign Minister praised Egypt's significant role in joint mediation efforts with Qatar and the United States. These efforts are focused on achieving a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and facilitating the exchange of hostages.
President El-Sisi stressed the importance of seizing the opportunity presented by ongoing negotiations to prevent further bloodshed. He highlighted that continued conflict would lead to severe instability in the region. The President urged the international community to exert pressure to de-escalate tensions and address the root causes by establishing a Palestinian state and enforcing a two-state solution.
The French Foreign Minister agreed with this perspective, confirming France’s full support for these efforts. He reiterated France’s commitment to its intensive activities aimed at ending regional tension.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The discussions also highlighted the strong Egyptian-French strategic partnership. Both sides expressed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields to benefit both nations.
The meeting underscored mutual interests and collaborative efforts between Egypt and France, aiming for regional stability and strengthened ties.
