EGA Expands CelestiAL Solar Aluminium Supply Agreement With Brembo For Sustainable Manufacturing

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has announced an expansion in its supply of CelestiAL solar aluminium to Brembo, a leader in braking solutions. CelestiAL is produced in the UAE using solar energy, which greatly reduces emissions from aluminium smelting. This agreement builds on an existing partnership with Brembo, significantly increasing the supply of EGA’s eco-friendly aluminium.

EGA has been providing aluminium to Brembo since 2019 for use in advanced braking systems. Aluminium is crucial for the automotive sector due to its lightness, strength, and resistance to corrosion. EGA ranks among the largest suppliers of foundry alloys globally, serving companies like BMW Group and tier-one suppliers for Mercedes-Benz and Nissan.

Brembo, established in 1961 in Bergamo, Italy, leads in designing and producing high-performance braking technology. The company supplies top-tier automotive manufacturers with advanced systems for both road and racetrack vehicles. "Brembo takes another significant step forward in responsible procurement," stated Beatrice Sarti, Chief Purchasing Officer of Brembo.

She added that this new agreement enables a nearly 50% reduction in emissions for the same volume of aluminium, reinforcing their dedication to sustainability. Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, expressed enthusiasm about continuing their successful collaboration with Brembo and thanked them for their trust.

EGA was the first globally to produce aluminium commercially using solar power. Producing electricity accounts for about 60% of greenhouse gas emissions in the global aluminium industry. EGA's innovative approach helps reduce these emissions significantly while maintaining high-quality production standards.

The company is certified under a global standard set by the automotive industry to ensure rigorous quality management across the supply chain. This certification underscores EGA's commitment to delivering top-quality products while adhering to environmental responsibilities.
