Emirates Environmental Group Hosts Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition From November 25 To 28, 2024

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is set to host the 24th cycle of its Pan-Arab Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition from 25th to 28th November 2024. This event will take place at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai for the second consecutive year. Sponsored by UPS, McDonald's UAE, and Abela & CO, the competition will be conducted in a hybrid format.

Undergraduate students from across the Arab region are invited to discuss significant sustainability challenges. This platform allows university students to share their views and propose practical solutions to pressing environmental issues. In 2023, the competition expanded internationally, aligning with COP28, and welcomed participants beyond the Arab world.

EEG Hosts Environmental Public Speaking Competition

This year marks the first registration from China, reflecting the positive response to international inclusion. Habiba Al Mar'ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG, stated that this competition empowers students by providing a dynamic platform to express their commitment to environmental conservation. "For 2024, EEG has outlined four applicable themes to drive dialogue and ideas on global environmental challenges and opportunities: Greennovation: Envisioning Cities of Tomorrow; Pending Eco-Excursions: Conservation & Sustainable Tourism; Harmonised Communities: Leading Climate Conscious Society?; and Benevolence of Oceans: Comprehending Planetary Security."

The event encourages participants to analyse, innovate, and propose impactful solutions for a sustainable future in the UAE and beyond. Bringing together students from various universities fosters critical thinking, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. This environment encourages exploration of real-world environmental challenges while presenting innovative solutions.

Through rigorous research, data sharing, presentations, and discussions, students gain valuable experience. These activities shape them into informed young leaders ready to make lasting impacts in their communities. The competition's expansion has helped foster critical thinking among participants.

All college and university students are encouraged to visit the EEG website for participation details. This vital platform for environmental advocacy invites administrators as well as students to engage in meaningful dialogue about sustainability.

The event's hybrid format allows broader participation while maintaining an engaging atmosphere for attendees. By uniting diverse perspectives on sustainability issues, the competition aims to inspire innovative solutions that address global environmental challenges effectively.
