KAUST Welcomes Professor Sir Edward Byrne AC As New President In September 2024

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has appointed Professor Sir Edward Byrne AC as its new president. This appointment is a pivotal moment for KAUST, aligning with the university's Accelerating Impact Strategy. Professor Byrne's extensive experience in academia and industry will help advance KAUST's goals under Vision 2030.

Edward Byrne to Lead KAUST in 2024

Previously, Professor Byrne served as President and Principal of King’s College London and President of Monash University. In these roles, he led significant expansions and research initiatives, bringing a wealth of experience to KAUST. "As the University embarks on a new era delivering its Accelerating Impact Strategy, it is an honour to join an academic community at the forefront of translating research into economically productive innovations for the benefit of society across the Kingdom and the world," said Professor Byrne.
