Education Ministry Highlights UK Partnerships At GREAT FUTURES Summit In London

The Ministry of Education recently took part in the final conference of the "GREAT FUTURES" initiative, which is part of the Saudi Arabia-UK Strategic Partnership Council. This initiative was initially launched last year in Riyadh. The education sector emerged as a key area, with 13 out of 38 agreements between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom focusing on this field.

Assistant Minister for Private Education and Investment, Iyad Al-Garawi, led the ministry's delegation at this event. He outlined significant partnership goals with the UK, particularly in education and skills development. Al-Garawi also highlighted investment opportunities in education, training, and research sectors.

During a workshop on educational innovation at the conference, Al-Garawi discussed Vision 2030's educational objectives. He explained how Saudi Arabia is investing in human capital by transitioning from traditional classrooms to modern learning environments. This includes digital transformation and integrating generative AI into curricula.

Al-Garawi also emphasized teacher empowerment and student inspiration as crucial elements of this transformation. He noted that these efforts align with Vision 2030's broader goals to enhance education quality and accessibility across the Kingdom.

The role of the private sector in driving educational investment was another key topic addressed by Al-Garawi. He stressed how private entities can contribute significantly to advancing education through strategic investments and partnerships.

The "GREAT FUTURES" initiative aims to strengthen Saudi-UK collaborations across both government and private sectors. These partnerships focus on key economic and developmental areas that support Vision 2030 while fostering mutual trade and investment growth.

Plans are underway to expand British schools and universities within Saudi Arabia as part of these collaborative efforts. This expansion aligns with Vision 2030's objectives to enhance educational opportunities and foster international cooperation.

The conference underscored the importance of innovation in education as a shared priority sector between Saudi Arabia and the UK. By focusing on innovative practices, both nations aim to improve educational outcomes and prepare students for future challenges.

This initiative not only seeks to build robust partnerships but also promotes sustainable development through education. By leveraging shared expertise, Saudi Arabia and the UK aim to create a brighter future for their citizens through enhanced educational opportunities.
