EDGE Group Awards Over AED 60 Billion In Defence Contracts, Boosting UAE's Global Stance
EDGE, a prominent advanced technology and defence group, continues to spearhead the UAE’s defence industry growth. Since its inception in 2019, EDGE has secured contracts worth over AED60 billion, establishing a robust high-technology industrial base and promoting an innovative knowledge-based economy.
EDGE’s portfolio of sophisticated air, land, sea, and cyber systems has expanded by 500 percent in under five years. The group has introduced 78 advanced solutions to the market, with 82 more currently in development. Focusing on autonomous systems, smart weapons, and electronic warfare, EDGE has signed AED12 billion worth of export deals with customers across five continents.

Hamad Al Marar, EDGE Group Managing Director and CEO, highlighted the UAE leadership's support in achieving global recognition. He stated, "The UAE is now a major exporter of highly competitive, advanced defence technology solutions, with a mature and robust ecosystem."
EDGE’s Industry 4.0 roadmap is enhancing the UAE’s industrial capabilities by improving efficiency through autonomous technology and digital solutions. Over the past four years, more than 60 Excellence and Industry 4.0 projects were initiated within EDGE entities, with over 40 already implemented.
The EDGE Learning and Innovation Factory upskilled 5,000 individuals in 2023 alone. Additionally, 200 individuals achieved advanced levels in certification courses such as Lean Management, Six Sigma, Lean Digital Analytics and IoT, and Agile Management.
EDGE collaborates with UAE businesses to develop solutions for specialised sectors. In aerospace, EDGE partnered with local SMEs to create the RABDA aeronautical engine. This lightweight, high-performance engine integrates seamlessly onto various unmanned aircraft and will drive the design and production of many UAE-made unmanned aircraft.
EDGE’s strategic growth is supported by aggressive product development and international investments in next-generation technology. The group ranks among the top three global suppliers in the precision-guided weapons domain.
With a workforce of over 12,000 employees, EDGE continues to strengthen supply chains through local and international acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures. The group remains committed to advancing the UAE’s position as an international hub for advanced defence research and manufacturing.
