EDGE Group, Brazilian Navy Set To Complete MANSUP Missile Development By 2025
EDGE Group has entered a strategic partnership with the Brazilian Navy to finalise the development of the National Anti-Ship Missile (MANSUP) by late 2025. This collaboration involves EDGE Group and SIATT, Brazil’s top smart weapons expert, providing essential resources for timely delivery. The MANSUP will be integrated into the Navy’s new Tamandaré class stealth frigates.
The agreement also allows EDGE Group to use MANSUP technology and data to develop an extended range version, MANSUP-ER. Rodrigo Torres, Chief Financial Officer of EDGE Group, stated, "This programme not only strengthens the defence sectors of Brazil and the UAE but also, in collaboration with SIATT, promises benefits beyond missile development. They will lead to the establishment of new factories and create numerous job opportunities, fostering growth across the entire industrial base and economy."

This contract marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between EDGE Group, SIATT, and the Brazilian Navy. Following EDGE Group's acquisition of a 50 percent stake in SIATT, they announced significant expansions at SIATT’s São Paulo manufacturing base. Additionally, two contracts were signed to deliver MANSUP and MANSUP-ER to both the Brazilian Navy and UAE Ministry of Defence.
The signing ceremony took place during an official visit by the Brazilian Navy to EDGE Group. Attendees included Admiral Edgar Luiz Siqueira Barbosa, Director-General of Naval Material; Admiral Emerson Gaio Roberto, Commander of the Naval Air Force; Admiral Carlos Henrique de Lima Zampieri, Director of Naval Weapons Systems; Admiral Marcelo da Silva Gomes, Director of Navy Programme Management and Director of Navy Communications and Information Technology; Admiral Sergio Blanco Ozório, Director of Navy Aeronautics; and Captain Cleiton Souza da Silva, Assistant to the Naval Material Directory.
Under this contract's framework, EDGE Group aims to utilise MANSUP technology for further advancements. The partnership is expected to bolster both nations' defence capabilities while contributing significantly to their economies through job creation and industrial growth.
This initiative underscores a commitment to enhancing military technology while fostering economic development. The collaboration between EDGE Group and SIATT exemplifies how international partnerships can drive innovation in defence sectors.
The project aims not only at technological advancements but also at creating a robust industrial base. By establishing new factories and generating jobs, it promises substantial economic benefits for both countries involved.
The comprehensive approach taken by EDGE Group ensures that all aspects of missile development are covered efficiently. This includes leveraging existing technologies while pushing forward with new innovations like MANSUP-ER.
In summary, this strategic partnership is set to deliver advanced missile systems while simultaneously boosting economic growth through industrial expansion and job creation.
