EDGE Demonstrates Advanced Autonomous Aerial Capabilities With ANAVIA HT-100 In Brazil

EDGE, a prominent technology and defence group, recently showcased the ANAVIA HT-100 unmanned helicopter in Brazil. The demonstration took place at the Army Activities Centre's test zone in Rio de Janeiro. This event highlighted the helicopter's ability to deliver real-time tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data efficiently.

The HT-100 is a product of ANAVIA, a Swiss company known for its expertise in unmanned aerial systems. This helicopter exemplifies European engineering excellence in VTOL technology. During the demonstration, it achieved a 15-minute readiness time from activation to take-off. It performed complex flight patterns, including hovering and figure-eight manoeuvres.

Representatives from various Brazilian security agencies and companies attended the event. They witnessed the HT-100's visual line-of-sight (VLOS) and beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) capabilities. The helicopter also demonstrated enhanced situational awareness through real-time mapping.

Tiago Silva, CEO of EDGE’s Latin America office, emphasised the helicopter's significance for defence and public security in the region. He stated: "For the defence and public security requirements in Latin America, the HT-100 offers a key solution across a range of operational contexts tailored to the region’s unique challenges." The event attracted potential partners interested in using the HT-100 for strategic missions.

The HT-100 is designed as an all-terrain, day/night capable unmanned helicopter. It serves as a rapid alternative to manned rotorcraft for intelligence missions. With a maximum payload of 60 kg, it showcases ANAVIA's commitment to redefining ISR operations with endurance and precision.

Engineering Excellence and Vision

Jon Andri Jörg, CEO of ANAVIA, remarked on their achievement: "With the HT-100, we are setting a new standard in unmanned rotary aviation." He highlighted their goal to provide armed forces with a reliable platform that performs precisely even in challenging environments. The successful demonstration underscored their vision of bringing European innovation to global defence markets.

The HT-100 features an interconnected rotor system and an industrial-grade turbine. These components enable up to 6 hours of flight time with high energy efficiency and minimal vibration. This design reflects ANAVIA's focus on delivering reliable performance through cutting-edge autonomy.

This demonstration marks an important step for EDGE and ANAVIA in showcasing advanced unmanned aerial technology. By leveraging European innovation and expertise, they aim to meet diverse operational needs globally while enhancing tactical ISR capabilities effectively.
