EDGE And 4iG Space & Defence Technologies Forge Strategic Partnership In Autonomous Systems And Space Domains

EDGE, a prominent technology and defence group, has partnered with 4iG Space & Defence Technologies (4iG S&D) from Hungary. They have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore joint development in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and space observation technologies. The agreement was formalised at 4iG S&D's headquarters in Budapest, attended by Saud Hamad Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Hungary.

The collaboration aims to foster research and development in crucial areas such as UAS, counter-UAS (C-UAS), and advanced space operations. This partnership reflects EDGE's ambition to co-develop next-generation technologies with forward-thinking nations. Rodrigo Torres, EDGE Group’s President and Chief Finance Officer, highlighted the importance of aligning with trusted partners to accelerate innovation in emerging domains.

In January 2025, EDGE took a significant step by signing a letter of intent (LOI) with Hungary's Ministry of Defence. This agreement focuses on exploring research and development initiatives and supplying CARACAL sniper rifles to the Hungarian Defence Forces. It marks the first instance of EDGE providing such systems to a NATO member state.
