EDB Launches AGRIX Accelerator To Strengthen UAE’s Food Security

Emirates Development Bank (EDB) has introduced the AGRIX Accelerator, a key programme designed to revolutionise the UAE’s agricultural sector. This initiative aims to equip farmers, agribusinesses, and technology providers with specialised financial solutions and advanced agri-tech tools. The programme supports the UAE's National Food Security Strategy 2051.

The AGRIX Accelerator spans 20 weeks, offering participants access to cutting-edge agricultural technologies, strategic business insights, and sustainable farming practices. Through expert-led workshops, hands-on training, and personalised mentorship, participants will gain essential skills to drive innovation and growth in the sector. The programme also empowers smallholder farmers to adapt to environmental changes, improve efficiency, and build a collaborative community focused on sustainable agriculture.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of EDB, highlighted the importance of food security in the UAE’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and resilience. EDB offers tailored financing solutions such as the UAE’s first-of-its-kind AgriTech Loans Programme. This programme provides local producers, agribusinesses, and technology providers with flexible financing options. These solutions underscore EDB's commitment to fostering a resilient and sustainable agricultural ecosystem in the UAE by enhancing access to capital and promoting innovation.

The AGRIX Accelerator is central to EDB's mission of supporting food security as one of its five priority sectors.
