ECZA Launches Campaign To Highlight Strategic Sector Clusters In Saudi Arabia's Special Economic Zones
The Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority (ECZA) has initiated a campaign to spotlight strategic sector clusters within Saudi Arabia's Special Economic Zones. This initiative aims to attract global investors by showcasing the opportunities these zones offer. The clusters play a crucial role in drawing quality investments and diversifying the national economy, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of boosting non-oil revenues and creating sustainable jobs in emerging sectors.
Within King Abdullah Economic City, the automotive cluster is situated at the King Salman Automotive Complex. This cluster gathers top investors, supported by advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics. Its proximity to King Abdullah Port enhances vehicle manufacturing, including electric vehicles. Additionally, it supports the transport and logistics cluster through multimodal transport solutions and advanced supply chains.

Major international companies like Lucid Motors and Hyundai have rapidly expanded their presence in Saudi Arabia. They benefit from the cluster effect, which provides access to integrated supply chains, skilled human resources, and operational efficiencies. The campaign was launched on ECZA's official X and LinkedIn accounts, focusing on four main clusters.
The Jazan Special Economic Zone hosts a food processing and agribusiness cluster. It leverages the region’s natural resources and strategic location on the Red Sea near Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a vital maritime trade route. This positioning facilitates exports and strengthens access to global markets.
The Ras Al Khair Special Economic Zone features a maritime cluster within the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services. It includes the region's largest shipyard for building and repairing ships and offshore rigs. Supported by advanced infrastructure, its strategic location near the Strait of Hormuz enhances its competitiveness in attracting maritime sector investments.
Cloud Computing Cluster
The Cloud Computing Special Economic Zone hosts a specialized cloud computing cluster. It benefits from advanced digital infrastructure, streamlined setup procedures, and competitive energy prices that appeal to global technology companies.
Nabil Khojah, Secretary-General of ECZA, stated that the authority is dedicated to fostering an environment conducive to growth in promising sectors. He noted that supporting industrial clustering within Saudi Arabia's Special Economic Zones amplifies growth opportunities and contributes to achieving economic diversification goals outlined in Vision 2030.
