Endowments' Role In Economy And Social Media's Impact Discussed By Ministers
The 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries continued its sessions for the second day. The seventh session, chaired by Omani Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Dr. Mohammed Bin Said Al Mamari, highlighted the developmental contributions of endowment funds and delved into the role of endowments in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Dr. Al Mamari stressed the importance of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a vital indicator of economic health. He emphasized that promoting and contributing to GDP is necessary to achieve national aspirations, sustainable development, prosperity, and comprehensive national stability.

Deputy Governor of the General Authority of Awqaf in Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Mohammed Alogayyel discussed the Saudi experience in caring for endowments. He highlighted the establishment of its authority, which has had an effective impact on serving and advancing endowment work in various fields.
In the eighth session, under the chairmanship of Syrian Minister of Awqaf Dr. Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, Brunei Darussalam's Minister of Religious Affairs Badaruddin Othman emphasized the importance of investing in social media's rapid spread while being aware of its dangers. He advocated for its supervision and monitoring to protect it from those promoting deviant thoughts that could harm societies.
Addressing Atheism
The ninth session, chaired by Egypt's Minister of Endowments Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, addressed the dangers of atheism and ways to handle it. President of Bangkok's Islamic Affairs Committee Arun Boonchom stressed the importance of confronting atheism due to its serious effects on society and the nation. He emphasized the need for educational and advocacy institutions to play an important role in addressing this phenomenon.
The conference sessions provided a platform for discussing various issues related to endowments and their impact on society. The discussions underscored the significance of economic contributions, social media influence, and addressing atheism as critical areas for ensuring societal well-being.
