Economic Data Retreat At UAE Government Meetings Focuses On Advanced National Data Management Strategies

The UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 featured the Economic Data Retreat, focusing on advanced strategies for economic data management. This initiative aims to enhance the UAE's readiness for global changes in AI, digital transformation, and big data. The retreat gathered ministers and leaders from economic, regulatory, financial, and tech sectors, along with Digital Transformation Councils representatives.

UAE Economic Data Retreat Enhances National Strategies

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini led the first session titled ‘The Unified Procurement of Big Data: Standardising Federal and Local Contracts’. This session emphasised big data's role in policy support and decision-making. It highlighted improving government data procurement efficiency to ensure quality, secure exchange, and effective utilisation for future plans.

Participants stressed that a unified national model for big data procurement is essential. This model aims to identify federal and local needs, unify efforts nationally, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and speed up data access. Mohamed Al Hussaini noted that prioritising big data is key to the UAE's competitive digital economy future.

The second session was led by Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi under the theme ‘National Integration of Inbound and Outbound Investment Data’. It focused on creating an integrated national investment data system to improve accuracy and reliability while assessing investments' economic and social impacts.

Mohamed Alsuwaidi stated, "In a highly competitive world vying for quality capital, the UAE continues to solidify its status as a leading global destination for investment, while focusing on measuring investment impact in terms of creating jobs, transferring knowledge and supporting vital sectors." These efforts aim to promote sustainable development and enhance national economic competitiveness.

Unified Smart National Statistics System

The third session was led by Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi under the theme ‘Toward a Unified Smart National Statistics System’. It addressed challenges in the national statistics system integration and governance standards cohesion. Plans were discussed for establishing a unified smart statistics system with regulatory policies to enhance national data reliability.

Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi remarked that building this system is crucial for real-time data integration to boost competitiveness and accelerate development plans. She added that innovative policies are needed to ensure accurate national data supports decision-making and future foresight.
