140 Leaders Graduate From ECAE's Educational Leadership Program In UAE

The Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) recently honoured educational leaders who completed two programmes from its Educational Leadership Capability Building Program (ELCP). This initiative, themed "Inspiring Leader," ran from August to December 2023 and aimed to empower school principals and leaders with the latest leadership tools and strategies to strengthen the UAE’s education sector.

The programme saw participation from 140 leaders of the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), including school principals and vice principals across the UAE. These leaders underwent training that included direct instruction, dialogues, and panel discussions led by academics and experts in education. The knowledge gained is intended to help them keep pace with transformative changes within their institutions.

The curriculum focused on four main topics: Pillars of Leadership, From Vision to Implementation, Classroom Empowerment, and Educational Process Development. These areas covered principles, values, strategic vision formulation, teaching leadership, technology integration, and comprehensive school improvement. The approach included preparing school plans and designing innovative educational environments.

Mohammed Al Qassim, Director-General of Emirates Schools Establishment, stated, "The comprehensive programme for developing educational leadership aligns perfectly with our vision of nurturing an environment that embraces the highest standards of innovative education. This initiative not only elevates the expertise of our school leaders and teachers but also supports the educational objectives set by our esteemed leadership. At ESE, we are dedicated to continuously investing in every facet of the educational process. We operate under the principle of lifelong learning, striving to achieve the fundamental goals of education, with a special emphasis on empowering our educational leaders and teachers."

Dr. May AlTaee, Vice Chancellor of ECAE, added that the ELCP aligns with UAE leadership's directives and ECAE’s strategic goals to advance school leadership capabilities across the UAE. "This programme equips school principals and vice principals with future-forward tools and strategies derived from the latest scientific research and best international practices," she said. "Our aim is to enable them to harness innovation and technological advancements in developing strategies that will elevate the educational standards in UAE schools."

Collaborative Efforts

AlTaee further noted that impactful educational programmes like ELCP rely on collaborative efforts with strategic partners such as Emirates Schools Establishment. "This initiative enriches educational leaders with strategic leadership tools to fulfill their important role in shaping the educational journey and influencing future generations," she said. "We are proud of our graduates for their commitment to enhancing their leadership skills and their roles as inspirations in the national education sector."

Launched by ECAE in early 2022, ELCP is a forward-thinking programme designed to enhance leadership capabilities within UAE's school education sector. Developed by educational leadership experts, it aims to improve both academic and operational frameworks in UAE schools through enhanced qualifications for educational leaders.

The skills acquired through this programme are expected to enable participants to enhance teacher roles using innovative technological skills tailored for diverse needs within UAE's school system. The comprehensive approach also includes initiatives aimed at improving positive behaviour among students.

This initiative underscores ECAE’s commitment to fostering an environment where continuous learning is paramount. By equipping school leaders with advanced tools and strategies, it aims to elevate the overall quality of education across UAE schools.

The ELCP represents a significant step towards achieving higher standards in education by focusing on empowering those at the helm of schools. Through collaboration with key players in the education sector, it seeks to create a lasting impact on future generations.

By wrapping up this initiative successfully, ECAE has demonstrated its dedication towards enhancing educational leadership within UAE's schooling system. The programme’s success highlights its potential for long-term benefits in shaping a robust educational framework.
