Eastern Region Deputy Governor Launches Mitsubishi Power’s First Locally Assembled JAC Gas Turbine In Dammam

Deputy Governor of Eastern Region Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz inaugurated Mitsubishi Power’s first locally assembled JAC gas turbine at their Dammam facility. This event, on behalf of Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, marks a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's industrial development. The initiative aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals by localising advanced industries and transferring global expertise to Saudi youth.

Prince Saud bin Bandar highlighted the importance of this achievement in enhancing the Kingdom’s industrial competitiveness. By localising advanced industries, Saudi Arabia strengthens its regional and international standing. These efforts are in line with leadership directives to support the industrial sector and empower national talent.

Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia's CEO, Adel Al-Juraid, noted that this milestone coincides with the 60th anniversary of Mitsubishi Power’s presence in the Kingdom. He emphasised the company's commitment to supporting industrial growth, energy security, and sustainability. The Dammam facility has made significant progress in assembling advanced gas turbines and enhancing localisation.

The first M501JAC gas turbine will be delivered to the Amiral cogeneration plant in Jubail. This model is among the world’s most efficient and reliable, with a capacity of 475 megawatts. The plant will provide electricity and steam to Saudi Aramco's SATORP petrochemical complex. This complex will house one of the largest steam crackers in the region.

Adel Al-Juraid also highlighted that Mitsubishi Power is reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for advanced power generation solutions. This aligns with the Kingdom's vision to become a key player in achieving Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

The SATORP petrochemical complex represents a major step forward for Saudi Arabia's energy and industrial capabilities. By supporting such projects, Mitsubishi Power contributes to a sustainable future for the Kingdom.
