Organised by the Arabia CSR Network, the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards are regarded as a regional platform that highlights entities with measurable impact in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, and EAD’s award underscores its role in combining environmental protection with balanced social and economic growth strategies.

The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi prepared its Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards submission around a broad set of flagship projects that support climate action, biodiversity conservation and public engagement, while also detailing how EAD applies Environmental, Social and Governance principles to drive transparent governance and strong environmental performance.

EAD’s efforts for sustainability go beyond technical environmental projects to cover education and awareness, most notably the Sustainable Schools Initiative, which encourages students across Abu Dhabi to adopt sustainable habits, alongside tailored awareness campaigns directed at different community groups, age segments and interest areas.

The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi also runs environmental volunteer opportunities linked to its sustainability goals and Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards profile, such as beach and reserve clean-ups, habitat restoration schemes and volunteer-supported wildlife monitoring, activities designed to involve residents directly in protecting local ecosystems.

These field efforts are backed by Naha, a digital platform that the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi uses to widen sustainability participation and support its Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards commitments, offering educational content, managing volunteer activities and allowing the public to submit environmental observations and reports through accessible digital tools.

Partnerships are another core element of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi sustainability approach recognised by the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards, with EAD working with local and regional partners, supporting youth-focused programmes such as Youth for the Environment and delivering training initiatives that encourage women’s participation in the environmental sector.

Taken together, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi initiatives highlighted at the Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards – spanning education, empowerment, volunteering, partnerships and digital engagement – support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and help embed a culture of environmental responsibility within Abu Dhabi society and across the region.

The latest Arabia CSR & Sustainability Awards result strengthens the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi standing among regional environmental institutions, reflecting alignment with frameworks such as the United Nations Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative and International Organization for Standardization standards while maintaining a clear focus on measurable sustainability outcomes.
