EAD Partners With TRENDS To Advance Scientific Research For Environmental Sustainability
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and TRENDS Research & Advisory have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to bolster EAD's initiatives in research, training, and field studies. The collaboration is designed to advance environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS, signed the MoU. Both parties are committed to enhancing cooperation by sharing expertise and developing knowledge initiatives. These efforts aim to tackle environmental challenges while addressing societal needs.

"We believe, at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, that scientific research and specialised studies are fundamental pillars in achieving our vision for environmental sustainability," stated Dr. Al Dhaheri. She emphasised the importance of building a robust research ecosystem through collaborations with TRENDS and other academic institutions.
This partnership will support environmental policymaking and foster innovation in climate change solutions. It also aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation efforts, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as a leader in global environmental governance.
The collaboration will include joint research on shared interests like social, political, economic, and environmental studies. Field surveys will also be conducted to gather data-driven insights. These insights are crucial for formulating effective solutions based on scientific evidence.
Dr. Al Ali highlighted that the agreement aids sustainable development goals by supporting field studies and public opinion surveys. "Our research and surveys serve as essential analytical tools for measuring public sentiment and understanding societal needs," he noted.
Knowledge Exchange and Training
The partnership involves exchanging experts and researchers to leverage their expertise effectively. This exchange encourages research publications and participation in academic events. Additionally, joint activities such as seminars and conferences will be organised to further these goals.
Analysing economic, social, and political trends is another aspect of this collaboration. Such analyses help assess impacts on environmental protection efforts while aiding future forecasting.
This MoU signifies a significant step towards achieving sustainable development goals through collaborative efforts between EAD and TRENDS Research & Advisory. By focusing on comprehensive research ecosystems, both entities aim to ensure a prosperous future for generations ahead.
