Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport Welcomes First Phase Of E-Gates
The General Directorate of Passports recently unveiled the first phase of e-Passport gates at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, marking a significant step forward in streamlining airport procedures for travelers. Also present were Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Director General of the General Directorate of Passports, and Esam Abdullah Alwagait, Director of the National Information Center (NIC).
Al-Yahya shed light on the objectives behind the introduction of e-gates, emphasizing their role in enabling travelers to complete their travel procedures autonomously, thus eliminating the need for manual processing. He pointed out that this technological advancement is designed to save time and effort for passengers whose biometric data are already registered in the passport system.
