Dubai International Airport To Welcome 3.6 Million Guests During Back-to-School Peak
Dubai International (DXB) is preparing to manage a significant influx of travelers as the summer holiday season draws to a close. Families are making their way back, and students are returning in anticipation of the new academic year.
This period, spanning from August 13-25, 2025, is expected to see DXB welcoming over 3.6 million visitors. The numbers suggest an average daily footfall of 280,000, with predictions pointing to 15 August as the peak travel day, expecting more than 290,000 travelers.

To handle this surge, DXB has coordinated efforts with the oneDXB community, which includes airlines, control authorities, and various commercial and service partners. The aim is to provide a smooth and hassle-free experience for all travelers during these exceptionally busy times.
Following an impressive first half of 2025, where Dubai saw a 6% increase in international overnight visitors compared to the previous year, reaching 9.88 million, DXB is solidifying its status as the top international airport globally. The airport facilitated travel for more than 46 million guests, setting a new record for itself and underscoring Dubai's appeal as a leading global destination.
In an effort to enhance the travel experience for People of Determination, DXB has introduced several supportive measures. These include clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet assistance for individuals wearing Sunflower Lanyards, and the establishment of a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge located in Terminal 2. These initiatives are part of DXB's commitment to inclusivity and providing equal access to all its facilities and services.
