Ducab Metals Business Unveils Sustainable Green Aluminium Rods
Ducab Metals Business (DMB) has recently unveiled its latest addition to the metals portfolio, the Green Aluminium Rod, aligning with the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation. This innovative product is crafted using recycled aluminium, which significantly lowers energy consumption and carbon emissions in comparison to the production of primary aluminium. DMB's sustainable manufacturing process results in a mere 0.5 tonnes of CO2-equivalents per tonne of product, showcasing a substantial environmental benefit.
The core of DMB's offerings, recycling aluminium, slashes energy usage by 95% and greenhouse gas emissions by 97% versus new aluminium extraction. This process not only conserves 9 tonnes of CO2 emissions and 4 tonnes of bauxite per tonne of recycled aluminium but also equates to the emissions from over 3,000 miles driven. The infinite recyclability of aluminium underscores DMB's commitment to environmental sustainability and the circular economy.

Mohamed Al Ahmedi, CEO of Ducab Metals Business, expressed the company's leadership in the green transition with the production of Green Aluminium Rods. "Our comprehensive roadmap for the traditionally challenging aluminium sector includes reducing emissions, promoting low-carbon aluminium, enhancing carbon footprint transparency, and advocating for circularity," Al Ahmedi stated. He emphasized DMB's dedication to sustainability and fair trade practices ahead of the full-scale production launch in Q4 of this year.
During a partnership agreement in Düsseldorf, Piotr Mirek from TELE-FONIKA Kable highlighted the synergy between sustainable materials and the energy sector. "Our collaboration with DMB is founded on innovation, trust, and sustainable development," Mirek remarked. He underscored the strategic importance of this partnership in expanding market presence and contributing responsibly to renewable energy projects.
DMB's zero-waste philosophy and commitment to sustainable sourcing are supported by rigorous supplier due diligence and a robust Code of Conduct. As global emphasis on sustainability grows, DMB is at the forefront of enhancing green production practices within the aluminium industry. This effort is bolstered by partnerships with forward-thinking companies like TELE-FONIKA Kable, demonstrating a collective move towards more sustainable business operations.
Looking forward, DMB remains focused on setting new environmental responsibility benchmarks in the sector. Through innovation and sustainability, DMB aims to contribute to a greener industry and a more sustainable world for future generations.
